Tour Tracks: Where to play near the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational

Briardale Golf pond

Welcome to Tour Tracks, a recurring feature here at BCDN where we'll fill you in on the Billy Casper Golf courses near the prominent professional golf stops of the week.

This week, the best in the world are in Akron, Ohio, at Firestone C.C. for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. While Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy are putting on a show, you can enjoy golf at BCG's Briardale Greens.

Located in Euclid, Briardale Greens is just a 50-minute drive due north on Ohio 8 and Interstate 271 from Firestone Country Club.

Briardale Greens opened in 1977, with the par-70 Richard LaConte design largely unchanged in nearly four decades. The course isn't long, just 6,058 yards from the championship tees, but challenges players with tree-lined fairways, large and undulating greens defensed by well-positioned bunkers.
The course is a fun play and comes it at a more-than-reasonable $39 on the weekends.

After the round, head to Sticks Pub & Grille for great food and drink specials.
