Two former (and current) World No. 1s, two deserts, two completely different results.

Global Golf Post, February 2nd Issue - Toothless Tiger

Tiger Woods kicked off his 2015 season with a missed cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open out in the Arizona desert. Woods posted an 11-over 82 at TPC Scottsdale on Friday, one of his worst rounds since turning professional in 1996. Errant tee shots and a short game just short of awful resulted in a 36-hole total of 155 (13-over par), tied for last with a club pro named Michael Hopper.

Across the pond, Rory McIlroy returned to the scene of his first professional victory and scorched the Dubai desert leaving the rest of the field in his dust. The best player in the world made it look easy, coasting to a final-round 2-under 70 and a three-shot victory at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The Global Golf Post team recaps the complete week in golf, from Woods’ woes to Lydia Ko and the tournament that got away.
