It’s not often the accolades and awards a vacation destination earns tell the full story. More often than not, a destination will rack up awards in one or perhaps two specific categories. However, over the past two years, The Sea Pines Resort has earned numerous prestigious awards across a variety of diverse categories.
The Plantation Golf Club was named the “2015 New Clubhouse of the Year” by Golf Inc. magazine last year. This year the resort’s Harbour Town Clubhouse was named the “2016 New Clubhouse of the Year” by the same publication. The Plantation Golf Club serves both Heron Point by Pete Dye and the new Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III (which opens to the public on Oct. 3). The Harbour Town Clubhouse serves Harbour Town Golf Links, Pete Dye’s seminal design and home of South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event, the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.
Heron Point by Pete Dye was named 2015 “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association.
The awards didn’t stop at the golf courses (or clubhouses); The Inn & Club at Harbour Town ranked fifth on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2015 Top 25 Hotels in the United States.
Additionally, The Sea Pines Resort earned Platinum status in GOLF Magazine’s biennial Premier Resorts list for 2016-17 joining the likes of Pebble Beach, Kiawah Island and Pinehurst.
At The Sea Pines Resort the experience from the clubhouse to courses to accommodations is first-class.
