Celebrating a century at Avon Fields in this week's Global Golf Post

GGP Watson McGinley cover

Whether a person or man-made thing, being around for a century is a big deal. That's why we celebrate Cincinnati's Avon Fields in this week's Global Golf Post. Avon Fields is the country's oldest municipal course west of the Allegheny Mountains and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. We take a look at the mystery behind who designed the course and why a track that's less that 5,000 yards has stood the test of time.

The Global Golf Post team also looks at the options before the Ryder Cup captains, Tom Watson and Paul McGinley, as they make their wild-card picks on Tuesday for Gleneagles.
