Fernandina Beach Golf Club participated in a Chili Cookoff event on Feb. 21, earning a third place finish from the judges. The contest, sponsored by the City of Fernandina Beach Parks and Recreation Department along with the Amelia Island Montessori School, featured 17 contestants.
“We are very proud of Andrea and the team that helped during the event,” says General Manager Josh O’Brien. “We can’t wait to bring home the trophy next year!”
The chili was judged on a number of criteria, including aroma, appearance, consistency, aftertaste, and flavor. A minimum of five gallons was required for public sampling, meaning a tremendous amount of ingredients and preparation went into making the chili the best it possibly could be.
