FootGolf, the widely popular golf-soccer combination, has come to Fernandina Beach Golf Club. A “Grand Opening Celebration” was held two weekends ago as locals got a chance to try out the unique, new sport. The Jacksonville Armada, the area’s new soccer club, were also on hand to meet fans and play a round of FootGolf.
“FootGolf’s popularity is exploding across America,” says Josh O’Brien, General Manager at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. “We are excited to bring this unique activity to Fernandina Beach and give our loyal golfers, and even non-golfers, the chance to experience the course in a new and fun way.”
FootGolf is available at Fernandina Beach on weekday afternoons and on weekends for $7 to walk or $11 to ride a golf cart. Players can bring their own soccer ball or rent one for $3.
Billy Casper Golf is an early adapter of FootGolf at our managed courses. Each hole is assigned a “par” and players tee off using a soccer ball, strategically kicking it until they make it in the 21-inch cup. The holes are cut into the rough to protect conditions of fairways and greens, and to avoid affecting everyday golfers.
