According to Golf
Digest, there are only two courses in California that were awarded more
stars than Hiddenbrooke Golf Club.
Those are Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
Yep, Hiddebrooke is that good.
Given 4½ out of 5 stars by Golf Digest, Hiddenbrooke is one of the most popular and beloved
layouts in Northern California. Designed
by the legendary Arnold Palmer, the course offers up stunning views, spectacular
golf and an experience unmatched in the area.
By today’s standards, Hiddenbrooke isn’t overly long tipping out at
6,678 yards. But don’t let the length
fool you … you need your “A” game to score well here. Dubbed a “thinkers” course, a mix of long and
short par-3s, 4s and 5s move right-to-left and left-to-right providing plenty
of risk-reward scenarios.
Palmer designed it to be entertaining for both the
aggressive bomber and the conservative course manager. A great example is the inviting 462-yard,
par-5 second hole. A solid drive makes
getting home in two possible, but an approach 60 feet uphill with terrain
promoting a right-to-left shot into a green that rewards left-to-right ball
flights makes things a little tricky.
Sneaky Mr. Palmer, very sneaky.
Among its memorable holes is the drivable 325-yard, par-4
fourth hole that entices the longer hitters to go for the green. The downhill 171-yard, par-3 17th hole
(pictured above) is another fun test with its tee box perched more than 70 feet
above the green. Club selection is key
to avoid airmailing the green.
