Raritan Landing Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J., is now offering FootGolf.
Available seven days a week after 12 p.m. (when there are no scheduled outings or events), the introductory 18-hole price is $13 for adults and $6 for juniors age 17 and under. Rental carts are available at an additional cost of $11 per person.
Professionally managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG) and operated by the Middlesex County Improvement Authority, Raritan Landing is one of Middlesex County’s finest layouts.
A precision sport combining elements of soccer and golf, FootGolf requires players to kick a soccer ball into a 21-inch cup in as few shots as possible. Raritan Landing will be accredited by the American FootGolf League (AFGL). Founded in 2011, the AFGL has been the sport’s governing body in the U.S. since July 2012.
“We are excited to expand our outdoor recreational opportunities here in Middlesex County,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “This will give families, groups of friends and work colleagues another way to spend time together in a friendly competition.”
“A short course, Raritan Landing provides the perfect landscape for this new recreational opportunity,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Charles E. Tomaro, liaison to the MCIA. The course measures just 3,300 yards and plays to a par of 58. The Stephen Kay design challenges golfers with small greens and narrow fairways.
“We’re looking forward to giving both golfers and non-golfers a fun way to experience this outstanding course,” said MCIA Chairman James P. Nolan. “FootGolf is a growing global phenomenon that is perfect for those looking for a fun, affordable outdoor activity or a group event that anyone can participate in.”
