One of Virginia’s top golf courses has added one of the state’s top teachers to boost its burgeoning player development program.
Magnolia Green Golf Club, recently named to Golf Digest’s Top 10 “Best New Courses,” has tabbed Leighann Albaugh as the new Director of Instruction. With more than 16 years’ experience and a high energy level, she’s got her sights set on turning Central Virginia’s non-golfers into golfers.
“I use my passion and knowledge to create atmospheres that motivate and support golfers of all ages and abilities,” says Albaugh. “By developing programs that make the game fun and approachable, our team will change golf’s perception, transform lives and possibly find the next Jordan Spieth or Lydia Ko.”
Trust us … Leighann knows a thing or two about the game.
She studied under some of the game’s most renowned teachers like Dana Rader and Dr. Jim Suttie, who happens to be ranked 19th on Golf Digest’s “Top 50 Teachers in America.” Suttie was also one of the first instructors to introduce high-speed video to golf instruction, so thanks for that doc!
In addition to being included on Golfweek’s “Best Teachers in Your State” list, she’s helmed several successful Division I golf programs. She led the University of Richmond to the most Top-5 finishes in school history, and brought prestige back to the Randolph-Macon College program by leading the women’s team to consecutive conference championships. In all, she’s recruited and coached five Academic All-Americans, seven All-Tournament teams, one “Rookie of the Year” and a “Player of the Year.”
Needless to say, you’re in good hands with Leighann.
So if your game needs a little fine tuning or you simply want to learn how to play the game, come on out to Magnolia Green and see what all the hype is about!
