Lincoln Hills Golf Club tournament raises $800,000 for foster children

Lincoln Hills Golf Club

Mattress retailer Sleep Train hosts an annual golf tournament to benefit causes helping support foster children, and this year's event on Oct. 1 raised some $800,000 more for Sacramento-area organizations.

BCG-managed Lincoln Hills Golf Club was proud to host the event, which brought the eight-year tally to $3.4 million raised. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the money from this year's golf tournament will go to Court Appointed Special Advocates groups in the Sacramento region.

Supporting foster children has been an emphasis for the company, founded in 1985 and sold this year to a rival for $425 million. The sale by founder Dale Carlsen will not impact the tournament or his support for the cause.
