In an effort to grow the game and support female golfers, more than 40 Billy Casper Golf-managed facilities participated in the second annual International Women's Golf Day on June 6. In total, over 29,100 participants played at 701 locations in 46 countries during the one-day event.
Women's Golf Day creates a fun opportunity for any girl or woman to try golf for the first time alongside existing golfers in a non-intimidating environment. Participants of all ages can either take a lesson or play nine holes of golf with others.
Lyman Orchards Golf Course (pictured above) -- a BCG-managed course in Middlefield, Conn. -- hosted over 160 women despite the rainy, 50-degree weather. Through the event, they were able to raise over $1,500 for the Middlesex Comprehensive Breast Center, which they will donate after their Putt Fore Pink Golf Outing in October.
